This exceptional project in Hackney, London was delivered in collaboration with a talented property developer specialising in high-end London homes. From the outset, the design process was highly coordinated, working closely with both the developer and his interior designers. We were provided with pre-rendered CGIs that clearly captured the desired aesthetic: a striking double door set framed by arched fixed screens, forming a powerful architectural statement within the entrance of the property.

The doors were finished in a rich bronze powder coat, a tone chosen to complement the interior’s warm, luxurious palette. To further elevate the presence of the bronze, the design incorporated kick plates, adding both visual weight and practical privacy between the entrance hallway and lounge. This detail grounds the door set, allowing the bronze to command the space with confidence.

One of the key challenges and triumphs of the project was the pre-formed arched opening. To maximise the opening width without compromising functionality, the corners of the doors were subtly arched, allowing each leaf to extend higher into the curvature of the aperture. This intelligent design solution preserved full usability while honouring the architectural intent of the space.

The door set also features bespoke semi-circle handles, crafted to echo the curvature of the arched aperture. These handles not only celebrate the bronze finish but also reinforce the door’s identity as a true statement piece. The linear horizontal bars introduce balance and discipline, offering a subtle nod to the steel banister spindles within the home. The outermost bar curves perfectly with the arched frame profiles, seamlessly tying all elements of the design together.

The property itself is truly spectacular. No detail has been overlooked, from the raw marble and timber staircase, complete with steel spindles, to the beautifully selected timber flooring that flows throughout. Every material choice reinforces the tone of contemporary luxury. The use of bronze electrical fittings, decorative accents and ornaments creates a cohesive visual language, allowing the bronze door set to sit naturally within the scheme rather than compete with it.

The finished result is a masterclass in refined detailing, balance and luxury. This door set doesn’t simply divide spaces; it elevates the entire property, acting as both a functional installation and a sculptural centrepiece that defines the home’s architectural character.
