Set within a beautifully refined apartment in Chelsea, this project centred around the introduction of a bespoke double steel door set to divide the reception room and hallway. The brief was to create a subtle yet impactful architectural feature that would enhance the flow of the space while complementing the carefully curated interior.

The client opted for a contemporary configuration that balances clean lines with considered detailing. Two horizontal bars are positioned low within the doors, paired with a rectangular feature box set neatly within the frame. This combination introduces structure and rhythm to the design, while maintaining large, uninterrupted glass panels that allow light to travel effortlessly between spaces.

Finished in RAL 7002 Olive Grey, the doors bring a softer alternative to traditional black steel, working harmoniously with the warm tones of the timber flooring and the layered textures throughout the apartment. The finish complements the wider interior palette, enhancing the sense of cohesion without overpowering the space.

A bespoke 40mm Trim handle was selected to elevate the design further. Its increased scale creates a stronger visual presence, transforming a typically understated detail into a refined focal point. The handle sits comfortably within the overall composition, reinforcing the symmetry of the double doors.

Positioned between the reception room and hallway, the doors provide a clear division of space while preserving openness and connectivity. When closed, they offer a sense of separation and privacy, yet still allow natural light to flow through the apartment. When opened, they enable a seamless transition between the two areas, enhancing the overall fluidity of the layout.

The result is a carefully considered door set that feels both architectural and effortless. Every element, from the bar layout to the finish and hardware, has been thoughtfully integrated to ensure the doors sit naturally within the home while elevating the overall design.
