What could have remained an awkward and underutilised space has been transformed into a striking architectural feature through the introduction of a bespoke steel door.

This opening beneath the staircase presented a unique design challenge, with its unconventional shape requiring a solution tailored precisely to the geometry of the space. Rather than treating the irregular form as a constraint, the design embraced it, creating a door that feels fully integrated into the architecture of the home.

Finished in a contemporary silver tone from our liquid metal range, the installation creates a bold focal point within the interior. The metallic finish introduces depth and texture while complementing the modern palette of the surrounding space.

Maintaining visual connectivity was a key objective throughout the design process. Positioned between the main living area and a home gym, the door was intentionally designed without horizontal bars, creating uninterrupted sightlines and allowing natural light to pass freely through the opening. The minimalist composition enhances the sense of openness while drawing attention to the distinctive shape of the frame itself.
